Jeffrey A. Konopka, M.D. is a fellowship trained orthopaedic spine surgeon. He is a native Hoosier and grew up in Greenwood, IN. He completed his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at Purdue University and medical school from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He then received his advanced spine training from the prestigious Harvard Spine Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
Jeff is very excited to be returning home to the state of Indiana joining the Indiana Spine Group to provide top notch spine care for patients with the entire spectrum of spine conditions including degenerative, deformity, trauma and oncologic conditions. He has special interests in performing minimally invasive procedures, navigation and robotic assisted spine surgery, as well as, training residents and fellows. He is also very interested in developing new techniques and technologies using his engineering background as he did at Eli Lilly developing drug delivery devices. Dr. Konopka has co-authored several publications, book chapters, and presented at both national and international spine conferences.
Jeff is an avid golfer, enjoys playing hockey, competing in triathlons, and cheering for Purdue athletics. He enjoys spending time with his wife, who is also a physician in Indianapolis, and their dog Belle.
